Skywalker 12 Foot Round Trampoline & Enclosure Review

Are you a big fan of the Skywalker Trampolines brand? We sure are. This is for a number of reasons. The value, superior warranties offered by Skywalker, the list goes on and on.

Recently we reviewed Skywalker’s 15’ round trampoline and were big fans of it. Amongst other features, we loved that Skywalker’s 15-foot trampoline offered such a large jumping surface. Of course, not everyone needs so much space to jump. So we have selected Skywalker 12 Foot Round Trampoline with an enclosure that is going to give you an awesome experience.

The 15-foot Skywalker trampoline may be overkill if you intend to strictly follow the common manufacturer recommendation of only having one person jump on the trampoline at a time (few people follow this rule, but it’s impossible to argue that doing so reduces one’s risk of injury).

A large trampoline such as the 15’ Skywalker or 15′ JumpKing trampoline may also simply be too large for a small yard.

Regardless of your specific circumstances, the fact that you’re still reading this post shows you’re interested in reading more about Skywalker’s 12’ trampoline.

Lights, camera, action Errr…. Net, springs, jump!

12’ Skywalker Trampolines Review

In this article, we’re going to do our best to give you all of the information you need to make an informed decision on this trampoline. First, we’ll discuss key product specifications. These might be a little technical, but don’t worry about that.

Afterward, we’ll break things down into easily digestible pros and cons as well as discuss whether you’re better off going for this trampoline or another option. Ready? Let’s start!

Key Product Specifications

— T-bracket construction for structural stability

— Meets or exceed ASTM safety standards

— Enclosure net made with polyethylene

— Utilizes 72 springs of 5.5 inches each for excellent bounce quality

Note: This list of product specifications isn’t 100% comprehensive. It’s just a quick summary of the things that are most likely to be relevant to you as an average trampoline purchaser.

If, however, you’d like to see the complete list of specifications straight from the manufacturer, you can view them on Amazon here.

Pros

Nice Warranties

Skywalker Trampolines has a leg up on its competition due to the lengthy warranties it offers. This Skywalker Trampoline for example offers a 3-year warranty on the frame of the trampoline as well as a 1-year warranty on the other parts (As of their April 2021 manufacturer description on Amazon).

Meanwhile, rival brands typically offer warranties of approximately 1 year on the frame and 6 months for the other parts of their respective trampolines.

Comfortable Amount of Space

Another positive aspect of this trampoline is that many people feel it’s just the right size. While it may not technically be endorsed by the trampoline companies (nor by us), in practice most families find that they can comfortably fit two average tweens or tiny adults on this trampoline (weight limit 200 pounds).

This offers group play opportunities (again we are not advocating this because of the increased risk of injury) that just aren’t really available on a teeny 8-foot trampoline.

While obviously not as large as the 15’ Skywalker Rangtangular trampoline, this trampoline offers many of the same play opportunities while taking up significantly less space in your yard.

Everything Included

This is pretty self-explanatory. Apart from the occasional shipping error (more on this later), the boxes this trampoline arrives in should provide you with all the tools, parts, and instructions you need to put your trampoline together.

Lasting Bounce Quality

Do you know what’s lame? A trampoline lacking any real height on the bounces it provides. Fortunately, this isn’t an issue with the Skywalker 12 foot round trampoline. While far less bouncy than a rectangle trampoline, the Skywalker trampoline’s bounce quality holds up well over time.

Cons

Lengthy Assembly

“I’ve always wanted to take part in the process of putting together a trampoline” — said no one ever. Hey, we’re keeping it real here today. Assembling this trampoline isn’t fun.

We’ve heard someone who operates a trampoline company even joke that the work that he does saves many marriages 😉 While that’s obviously an exaggeration, this trampoline does take a while to put together.

We’d recommend having a group of at least two people to put it together, though three is better. Working in a group of two, you can probably get everything together in 2-3 hours.

Shipping Issues

This trampoline typically is shipped in two large boxes. Unfortunately, the boxes are not made with strong cardboard. As a result, there’s a sizable chance the boxes will get damaged at some point during the shipping process.

Normally nothing bad comes of this. Unfortunately, once in a while the poorly made packaging results in your trampoline arriving with damaged or missing parts.

While you’re overwhelmingly likely going to be able to receive replacement parts, it is a bit of a headache to have to complain to the manufacturer and wait for the parts to arrive.

Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about this. While not a big issue, we’d just recommend you order this trampoline before the big day! This gives you plenty of time before Christmas, a birthday, or graduation to make sure everything arrives in good condition.

Weak Spring Cover

We’ve heard numerous complaints about this trampoline’s spring covers lacking in the durability department. This has resulted in many consumers having trampolines with pretty tattered and torn-up spring covers after a year or so.

Overall

The Skywalker Trampolines 12-feet round trampoline and enclosure combo is incredibly inexpensive for what you get. This is one of the cheapest trampolines we’ve seen that manages to maintain a decent semblance of quality.

If you’re working with a limited budget this is one of the better trampolines on the market once you get past any potential shipping and assembly headaches.

Upping your budget will allow you to do better, but especially at this price, most families will be satisfied with Skywalker’s 12’ trampoline.
